EC 30: Ice Maker Fill Valve Held Open Too Long
EC 30 is what a later 600 Series control stores once the ice maker's water valve has stayed open longer than fifteen seconds on five separate fills. Where the water comes in
The ice maker sits inside the freezer section; its water arrives on copper rising through the floor near the back wall, or through the wall low down. Nothing in this code points at the panels or the cabinetry.
What keeps the valve open
Sub-Zero’s service manual tests the ice maker before the water or the valve: a jammed cube, an ice maker out of level, a fill cup in the path of the ice. Supply pressure comes next, then the valve and its wiring.
Early and later controls
A 600 Series built before serial number 1810000 flashes the same ICE and SERVICE pair but stores no code. On the later control EC 30 waits in Diagnostic Mode.
